“I wanna fly right now, I wanna see all my homies get down, I wanna feel like I can’t come down.” The song is very chill and laid back, with doesn’t have a grip on them quite yet. One of my personal favorite tracks on the album, reflects very well on Miles Morales after he gets his powers. “Everyone here, we believe in you, Know you can be a hero ’cause we seen you do it.” “I had to fight for the city, I had to fight for the people” Jaden Smith sings in reference to Miles Morales. One thing I noticed about the soundtrack is that the artists place a bit of themselves, as well as the plotline for Spider-Verse in the song. The build-ups and memorable melody make this a real banger. On the third song off the soundtrack, Jaden Smith delivers an athematic song with killer guitar riffs before each verse. Miles sang this song to get into his “happy place” to gain control of his powers. The song is a cute, upbeat, and feel-good song and revisits a few times in the movie. The song is sung at the beginning of the film when Miles Morales was sat at his desk early in the morning drawing before school. The debut single for this soundtrack was ‘Sunflower’ by Post Malone & Swae Lee. Around 2:30, the drums start getting more upbeat and create this powerful build before the last chorus. The song is featured in a massive turning point in the film when Miles decides that he is Spider-Man and puts on the black and red suit before jumping off a building to help shut down the collider. The soundtrack starts with this hype song delivered by Blackway & Black Caviar.
